CDC resource hub winds up

The successful Home Care Today project, which linked consumers and providers to resources on consumer directed care, has ended.

The government-funded project ceased on 30 June and the website’s resources will be transferred in coming months to the COTA Australia website.

Established in 2013, the Home Care Today project developed a wide range of resources to support the implementation of consumer directed care, including toolkits, webinars, training modules and workshops.

The COTA Australia initiative was created to help build the capacity of consumers and providers to take advantage of consumer directed care in home care and focused on topics such as the costing and pricing of services, legal issues arising from CDC, the changing role of case managers and organisational culture.

Coinciding with the introduction of package portability from 27 February, Home Care Today also hosted a conference in March on developing strategies to better respond to the needs of home care consumers in a market environment.

The project was led by Ronda Held until mid-2016, and Jonathan Pietsch who later took up the role of manager.

CTO names CEO appointment

Dianne Hallett

The Community Transport Organisation, the NSW peak body for the community transport sector, has announced Dianne Hallett as its new CEO.

Ms Hallett replaces Stavros Koufis who left the organisation in March.

Ms Hallett joins the CTO having held previous roles as a consultant and with Transport for NSW.

Chair of the CTO Bethany Simmonds said Ms Hallett brought diverse experience to the role having worked in projects for not-for-profit, small business and government organisations.

Ms Hallett said future funding concerns and operational reform would be some of the key issues for the peak body in the coming months.
