RSL LifeCare and GG honour Anzacs
RSL LifeCare will be hosting a number of events in honour of Anzac Day this year along with several remembrance dedication events in the lead up.

For RSL LifeCare executive general manager veteran services David Anderson Anzac Day is a time to pause, reflect and honour the extraordinary sacrifices made by the men and women who served – or are serving – Australia.

“As the years pass, the meaning of Anzac Day has only deepened, now encompassing the courage, service, and resilience of all veterans across generations,” he told Australian Ageing Agenda.
“At RSL LifeCare, this day carries special significance. Many of the veterans in our care have lived the experiences we commemorate – whether in uniform or through the lives they built in the wake of their service. For them, Anzac Day is not just a ceremony; it’s a personal chapter in our nation’s history.”
On 15 April the 30th Australian War Widows ACT Field of Remembrance Dedication and Anzac Service was held in partnership with the Australian War Widows at the RSl LifeCare Leslie Morshead Manor in Lyneham – the 24th time that RSL LifeCare has hosted it.
Governor General Sam Mostyn was a guest speaker and was also officially announced as Patron of RSL LifeCare, which has been providing services and care to seniors and veterans for over 110 years across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.
After the Ceremony, the Field was open to veterans, war widows, and their family and friends to place small wooden crosses – a quiet and personal way of remembering loved ones and those who gave their lives in the service of their country.
The day also featured wreath laying, The Last Post, Ode, minute’s silence and Rouse, and the national anthem.

RSL LifeCare’s largest and longest-standing aged care facility for veterans and seniors in New South Wales – ANZAC Village, Narrabeen– will be hosting a march and commemorative service on 23 April.
On 25 April there will be a Dawn Service at the Sydney Harbour Bridge hosted by RSL LifeCare and a Dawn service at the Anzac Village – delivered by Captain Camerson Wise – followed by a community breakfast for Anzac village residents, families and community members.
“We are privileged to walk alongside these veterans every day – providing support, care, and connection through our aged care homes, home care services, and retirement communities. Our commitment goes beyond one day a year. The spirit of Anzac is alive in our daily work, in the respect we show, and in the stories we honour,” Mr Anderson told AAA.
“To all who join us in our Anzac Day services – staff, volunteers, families, and local communities – thank you. Your presence and participation mean the world to our veterans. It reminds them that their service is not forgotten and that they are deeply valued, not just on April 25, but every day of the year.”
